Saturday's Bread (Green Line, Govt Center + short walk)
Saturday, February 27, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Saturday’s Bread was founded upon the insight that, while there
were food programs for people in need in Boston from Monday through Friday,
few, if any, served meals on Saturday/Sunday. The goal was – and
is -- to fill this crucial gap. We will be helping cook/serve/setup for
a meal during our shift.

Volunteers will be helping serve Breakfast and helping with beach games
such as volleyball. Do you have a talent you like to share. If you are
in a band or like to fly kites please let us know. The Special Olympics
are looking to make this event special. I was told they get over 700 people
attending so volunteers are greatly needed. It is 1 block from the T station

as many volunteers as possible to help the Big Apple Circus.
Big Apple Circus Circus of the Senses
Thursday, April 8th at 8:30 a.m. till 1pm
Big Apple Circus Tent at Boston's City Hall Plaza
Circus of the Senses is a unique performance of the Big Apple Circus that
provides children with vision or hearing impairments and other special
needs an opportunity to experience the excitement of classical circus
under the big top. The special features of this performance include a
live, detailed Audio Description of the acts broadcast through wireless
headsets, Braille and Large-print programs that contain vivid descriptions
of each act, and American Sign Language interpreters stationed throughout
the tent. After the performance there is a Touch Session, where a small,
pre-selected, group of vision-impaired children are invited to come into
the ring to meet our performers, pet some of the show animals and touch
some of the show props and acrobatic equipment. Volunteers will assist
in handing out programs, assisting children from buses to tent, and helping
with post show Touch Session.
