Big Apple Circus Circus of the Senses
Thursday, April 8th at 8:30 a.m. till 1pm
Big Apple Circus Tent at Boston's City Hall Plaza
Circus of the Senses is a unique performance of the Big Apple Circus that provides children with vision or hearing impairments and other special needs an opportunity to experience the excitement of classical circus under the big top. The special features of this performance include a live, detailed Audio Description of the acts broadcast through wireless headsets, Braille and Large-print programs that contain vivid descriptions of each act, and American Sign Language interpreters stationed throughout the tent. After the performance there is a Touch Session, where a small, pre-selected, group of vision-impaired children are invited to come into the ring to meet our performers, pet some of the show animals and touch some of the show props and acrobatic equipment. Volunteers will assist in handing out programs, assisting children from buses to tent, and helping with post show Touch Session.
